Correction, Retraction, and Withdrawal Policy
Cermin Dunia Kedokteran (CDK) journal recognizes the importance of the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record to the scientific community. It attaches the highest importance to maintaining trust in the authority of its published articles. We recognize that errors may occur in publications, and in rare cases, significant breaches of publication ethics may require the retraction or withdrawal of an article.
Authors who discover an error in their published article must contact the journal as soon as possible using the contact details listed on the journal’s home page.
Article Correction
Corrigendum: A Corrigendum will be published where it is required to correct an error or omission, but the error does not impact the results and conclusions of the article. The authors should draft the Corrigendum but will be subject to review and approval of the Journal Editor or appropriate member of the Editorial Team. The Corrigendum will be linked to the article that it corrects.
Erratum: An Erratum will be published when the Publisher may need to correct an error made during the publication of an article. The journal will issue an Erratum to correct the error, and it will link to the article it corrects.
The original article will typically remain unchanged, except for a note referring to the correction, unless the error significantly affects readability.
Article Retraction
Articles may be retracted to correct errors that are too extensive in the view of the editors to publish a correction, or due to infringements of the journal’s policies, such as multiple submission, bogus claims of authorship, plagiarism, fraudulent use of data, or the like.
The Editor-in-Chief will consider retracting a publication if:
- They have clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of major error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error), or as a result of fabrication (e.g., of data) or falsification (e.g., image manipulation).
- It constitutes plagiarism or reports unethical research regarding the conduct of research involving human participants and/or animals.
- The findings have previously been published elsewhere, and the authors have failed to provide proper attribution to previous sources or disclosure to the editor, permission to republish, or justification (i.e., redundant publication).
- Copyright has been infringed, or there is some other serious legal issue (e.g., libel, breach of privacy).
- There is evidence of identity theft or fictitious authorship.
- There is evidence or material concerns of authorship being sold.
- There is evidence of citation manipulation, for example, adding irrelevant citations to their paper.
Retraction Procedure:
- A retraction notice titled “Retraction: [article title]” signed by the editor.
- In the electronic version, a link is made between the retraction notice and the original article.
- The PDF and HTML versions of the original article will not be removed from the website; instead, they will be watermarked with “RETRACTED” on every page to ensure transparency and the permanence of the scientific record.
- The metadata in Crossref/DOI will be updated to reflect the retraction status.
Article Withdrawal
Once an article has been submitted and the applicable payment has been made, the payment is non-refundable. If an author chooses to withdraw their article after submission, any payment already made will be forfeited and will not be refunded, regardless of the reason for withdrawal. Authors are therefore advised to carefully consider their decision before submitting an article and completing the required payment.
By submitting an article and making the applicable payment, the author acknowledges and agrees to this Article Withdrawal Policy. This policy and its non-refundable nature are communicated to authors before submission and payment.
