Traditional medicine has long played a role in maintaining the health of the Indonesian people, especially in areas that are relatively far from ‘modern’ health facilities. Numerous studies have demonstrated its benefits, so it is only fitting that its use in clinics continues to be supported. Two articles on the benefits of olive oil and omega-3 may also add to the data on efficacy so that it can be better integrated into daily practice.

Technical reports on surgery may be useful as an alternative management option in settings with limited facilities; they are supplemented by several case reports that warrant caution, either due to their coincidence with other clinical conditions or because of their atypical clinical manifestations. Another discussion on the gut-lung axis may add insight for a more comprehensive clinical approach.
