Blount’s disease is pathology of the proximal tibial epiphysis causing outward tibial bowing in children. The Langenskiöld 6-stage classification system, based on the progressive degeneration of the medial joint compartment, is used to assess the severity of the disease. Treatment options include non-surgical and surgical techniques, with specific care according to patient age and Langenskiöld stage. Permanent joint damage and deformity can be sustained if left untreated.
