Miksoma jantung merupakan tumor jantung primer jinak yang paling umum. Meskipun secara histologis bersifat jinak, namun dapat berpotensi terjadinya emboli sistemik dan serebral, bahkan berpotensi menyebabkan kematian mendadak. Karena kasus miksoma jantung merupakan kasus langka dan jarang dikenali, diagnosis awalnya sering keliru.
Cardiac myxoma is the most common benign primary cardiac tumor. Although cardiac myxomas are histologically benign, it can be very life-threatening owing to the potential of systemic and cerebral embolization, causing sudden cardiac death. Due to the rarity and consequent unfamiliarity, cardiac myxomas are sometimes misdiagnosed.
