Abstract

Pneumonia masih merupakan masalah kesehatan utama pada anak. Kopeptin merupakan rantai glikopeptida-asam amino dari prekursor hormon vasopresin arginin yang juga dikenal sebagai hormon anti-diuretik. Pada anak dengan pneumonia, dijumpai peningkatan kadar kopeptin serum yang berhubungan dengan tingkat keparahan pneumonia dan komplikasinya. Penelitian lanjutan terkait peran kopeptin sebagai uji diagnostik dan prediktor prognostik pneumonia pada anak masih dibutuhkan.

Pneumonia remains as the major cause of health problem in children. Copeptin is an amino acids-glycopeptides precursor of arginine vasopressin, also known as anti-diuretic hormone. Children with pneumonia have increased level of serum copeptin which correlates with the severity and complications of pneumonia. Further investigations regarding the role of copeptin as diagnostic test and predictor of prognostic in childhood pneumonia are warranted.
