Hilangnya penis akibat kecelakaan atau penyakit merupakan hal yang menghancurkan diri seorang pria baik secara fisik maupun psikis. Teknik rekonstruksi penis berkembang seiring dengan evolusi flap di bidang bedah rekonstruksi. Metode transfer jaringan bebas menggunakan arteri radialis dari flap lengan bawah dalam satu tahap adalah yang paling dianjurkan. Pada artikel ini akan diulas modalitas rekonstruksi berbagai macam defek penis, yang dapat menjadi pilihan untuk hasil yang memuaskan.
Loss of penis due to injury or disease is physically and psychologically devastating to any male. While the technique of penile reconstruction continues to evolve in conjunction with the evolution of flaps in reconstructive surgery, the free tissue transfer using radial artery forearm flap (RAFF) in a single stage is the most preferred method. This article review reconstructive modalities for various types of penile defects, new options in penile reconstruction to help both patients and physicians to achieve best end result.
