Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic disorder with characteristics of hyperglycemia due to abnormalities of insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Treatment of diabetes in geriatrics was complicated because of the heterogeneity of clinical, mental, and functional status. Screening for cognitive disorders and risk of hypoglycemia is recommended in geriatric patients. Simplification of treatment regimens and use of medication with low risk of hypoglycemia are recommended
