Abstract

Influenza is one of the most common respiratory tract infections, with 3 to 5 million severe cases, and 250.000 to 500.000 deaths yearly (WHO). Vaccination could reduce the risk of influenza, it should be done routinely every year. Influenza treatment usually involves symptomatic, supplementation, and rest. Internationally, several antivirus medications for influenza are oseltamivir, zanamivir, amantadine, and rimantadine. In Indonesia, distribution of antiviral for influenza is regulated by Ministry of Health. Health practitioners should get acquainted with the pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic of these antiviral medications
