The issue of bacterial resistance will always be a major concern among infection specialists, particularly in the intensive care unit (ICU) because it increases length of stay and treatment costs, as well as impacting patient prognosis. The analysis reported in this edition is expected to provide insight and plan adequate anticipatory measures.

The effects of vitamin D supplementation, and, interestingly, green tea, on hematological disorders are highly interesting to study; further research is highly recommended to lead to broader clinical application. Noteworthy case reports include those on the benefits of nutrition in diabetes mellitus, anaphylactic shock associated with the use of radiological contrast agents, and pulmonary complications associated with the use of vapes/e-cigarettes; the latter warrants attention given the increasing use of vapes in the community.
