Sindrom Fahr: Kalsifikasi Intraserebral Patologis

Sindrom Fahr adalah kumpulan gejala yang disertai dengan kalsifikasi abnormal simetris dan bilateral pada ganglia basalis, talamus, nukleus dentatus, korteks serebri, serebelum, dan hipokampus. Sindrom Fahr dapat terjadi pada orang dewasa muda hingga paruh baya. Beberapa etiologi adalah kelainan endokrin, infeksi, dan penyakit autoimun. Gejala klinis sangat beragam. Diagnosis berdasarkan kriteria sindrom Fahr. Pemeriksaan pencitraan yang berguna salah satunya adalah CT scan kepala. Sampai saat ini belum ada terapi khusus, terapi berfokus pada gejala dan penyakit yang mendasarinya.
