Anak dengan gangguan perkembangan neurologis (GPN) termasuk dalam kelompok risiko tinggi untuk mengalami komplikasi berat akibat influenza. Hal ini disebabkan oleh keterbatasan mobilitas, penurunan kekuatan otot pernapasan, serta gangguan tonus otot yang dapat memengaruhi fungsi sekresi paru. Meskipun kelompok berisiko ini relatif kecil, anak dengan GPN merupakan penyebab sejumlah besar rawat inap dan kematian akibat influenza. Vaksinasi tahunan adalah pencegahan yang efektif dan direkomendasikan untuk semua anak usia 6 bulan hingga 18 tahun, termasuk anak dengan GPN. Selain itu, anggota keluarga atau pengasuh di lingkungan sekitar juga harus menerima vaksinasi influenza setiap tahun. Namun demikian, penelitian khusus mengenai vaksin influenza pada populasi kelompok ini masih terbatas, dan tingkat efektivitas vaksin dapat bervariasi setiap tahunnya. Artikel ini akan membahas vaksinasi influenza, baik secara umum maupun khusus pada kelompok anak dengan GPN.
