Hip dysplasia or DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of Hip) is an abnormal development of the growing hip including dysplasia, subluxation and frank dislocation of the hip joint in children. Early diagnosis and treatment is very important for the best possible functional outcome. Delay of presentation and treatment of hip dysplasia may result in an abnormal gait, decreased strength, and increased rate of degenerative hip and knee joint disease. Treatment (non-surgical and surgical) depends on the age at presentation and the severity of dysplasia
