Genital herpes is caused by Herpes simplex virus (HSV). Immunologic changes in pregnancy may increase susceptibility to HSV infection as one of the major cause of morbidity and mortality for both mother and fetus. The effect to the mother and fetus/ neonate depends on whether a primary infection (initial) or a recurrent infection. Determination of an episode of genital herpes is important to provide best management and education
