Abstrak

Mikrobiota manusia berperan menjaga kesehatan manusia pada kondisi seimbang. Perubahan komposisi mikroba akan menyebabkan ketidakseimbangan antara bakteri menguntungkan dan bakteri yang berpotensi merugikan, menyebabkan “disbiosis”. Hubungan patogenik antara mikrobiota usus dan penyakit ginjal disebut gut–kidney axis, yang berimplikasi pada berbagai manifestasi klinis seperti PGK (penyakit ginjal kronik), AKI (acute kidney injury), hipertensi, nefrolitiasis, nefropati IgA, hemodialisis, dan dialisis peritoneal. Sinbiotik, campuran probiotik dan prebiotik dilaporkan bermanfaat bagi kesehatan manusia melalui gut–kidney axis.
