Transplantasi Uterus untuk Mengatasi Absolute Uterine Factor Infertility (AUFI) pada Sindrom Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH)

Infertilitas akibat tidak ada organ uterus atau kemampuan fisiologi uterus disebut absolute uterine factor infertility (AUFI). Salah satu penyebab AUFI adalah sindrom Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH), kelainan kongenital uterus tidak atau gagal berkembang tanpa gangguan manifestasi ciri seks sekunder. Satu-satunya terapi infertilitas pada sindrom MRKH yang telah terbukti berhasil adalah transplantasi uterus. Masih terdapat masalah etika dalam pelaksanaan transplantasi uterus terutama mengenai sifat operasi transplantasi uterus yang bukan tindakan menyelamatkan jiwa melainkan hanya meningkatkan kualitas hidup.
