Abstrak

Herpes zoster (HZ) adalah reaktivasi virus varicella-zoster virus (VZV) yang menetap dalam bentuk infeksi laten di dalam dorsal root ganglion. Faktor risiko HZ anak adalah infeksi primer VZV intrauterin serta varisela akut pada satu tahun pertama kehidupan. Pada anak imunokompeten, penurunan imunitas seluler spesifik berperan penting dalam reaktivasi VZV. Gejala prodromal biasanya tidak terlihat pada anak-anak. Lesi vesikel berkelompok terdistribusi secara dermatomal. Diagnosis secara klinis, bila perlu dilakukan pemeriksaan Tzanck smear, tes serologis, kultur, dan lain-lain. Terapi simptomatik dan asiklovir. Komplikasi dapat berupa superinfeksi bakteri; pada anak jarang terjadi neuralgia pasca-herpes.

Herpes zoster (HZ) is a reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which settles as latent infection in the dorsal ganglion root. Risk factors in children are primary intrauterine VZV infection and acute varicella in the children’s first year of life. In immunocompetent children, a decrease in specific cellular immunity plays an important role in VZV reactivation. Prodromal symptoms are usually absent in children. Lesions are dermatomally distributed grouped vesicles. Diagnosis is clinical; Tzanck smear, serologic test, culture, and other tests can be planned. Treatment includes symptomatic measures and acyclovir. Complications can be bacterial superinfection; post herpetic neuralgia rarely occurs in children.
