Abstrak

Pasien diabetes melitus memiliki gangguan sistem imun, sehingga lebih rentan terhadap infeksi, yang menimbulkan risiko lebih tinggi untuk mengalami komplikasi influenza yang serius. Bukti terkini menunjukkan vaksin influenza efektif menurunkan secara signifikan morbiditas dan mortalitas pasien diabetes melitus. Selain itu, studi serologi tingkat antibodi dari vaksinasi influenza pada pasien diabetes menunjukkan hasil yang sebanding dengan orang dewasa sehat. Meskipun diperlukan lebih banyak uji klinik terkontrol pada pasien diabetes melitus dengan influenza untuk memperkirakan efek vaksinasi, data saat ini menunjukkan perlunya vaksinasi influenza rutin pada pasien diabetes melitus, seperti yang direkomendasikan oleh pedoman. Berbagai upaya harus dilakukan untuk meningkatkan cakupan vaksinasi pada kelompok risiko ini.
