Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed life-threatening cancer in women and the leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide. Women have 12.2% risk for developing breast carcinoma. Screening for breast carcinoma in reproductive women should be done as early as possible. Mammography remains the modality of choice for screening. In case of dense breasts, ultrasound may help the diagnosis. MRI is an additional modality, and has a high sensitivity when combined with mammography and clinical examination, but the high cost of MRI examination needs to be considered.
